A project of “Connaissance du Café”
Housed in Soluna-Cafes’ boutique and administered by “ Connaissance du Café ”, the Cafeothèque is a living collection regularly updated, of differentiated coffees from the whole world (represented by 68 countries) destined to contain up to 1,000 samples of green coffee.
The Cafeothèque® organizes:
• Every day: cupping of different green coffee samples
• Every month: a blind cupping meeting in the framework of the Cafeology Academy of coffee in the Procope restaurant, the older cafe in Paris.
• With an appointment: a cupping session for roasters and refined restaurants.
Each coffee producer has the unique opportunity to present and make skillful amateurs and specialists cup their production, in the pleasant ambiance of Soluna-Cafes, in front of the San Luis Island that’s in the full heart of Paris.
The Cafeology Club, turned into the Cafeology Academy, has cupped in its emblematic Procope salons, more than 200 samples of plantation coffees.
These have been prepared with the active contribution of roasting professionals, analyzed and tested by a qualified jury that has awarded prices of “Exceptional Vintage” and “First Vintage” rewarding the exceptional qualities of the cup.
Connaissance du Cafe as well as Soluna-Cafes are inspired in the Specialty Coffee Association of Europe ( SCAE: www.scae.com ) and the Specialty Coffee Association of America ( SCAA : www.scaa.com ) mission with whom they share their objectives and challenges.
This way, our common passion for coffee has naturally found the framework of its expression: The association develops strictly pedagogic activities in Academy reunions, while Soluna-Cafes makes it available to the consumer a wide range oh Honored Plantations carefully selected.
